My futile attempts over this month to draw the gorgeous model Kate Upton for *barrypresh 's Gentleman Club.Honestly don't think I captured her very well. These were the few images (of many) I liked because they look interesting. But it was a challenge nonetheless!
Any critiques?
Oh, also here [link] are the photo refs I used if anyone is interested. I always think it's neat what people gather from a photo to then draw.

I think the fisrt one from left to right is the most accurate looks like a lot and the pose is totally Kate upton I think!

In all honestly the first one (top left) isn't as strong as the others but you captured Kate very well. I think what may be bugging you is the fact that she looks kinda different in each picture and your likenesses vary to match each photo. You ever try to draw Lady Gaga? She looks different in every picture I"ve seen her in...it's annoying. Anyhoow, nice work!

I would say I tried caricaturing Lady Gaga but I gave up when I looked for pictures. LOL

I think you did a great job! The essence is certainly there, and its done in your style too so those're big bonus points. It might be because of the black-white shading...her hair's blonde in the pictures but right now you've got it looking brunettish. Not that there's an issue with that, just my two-cents as to why you might not be so pleased, especially if you're mental picture is linked with the reference photo.

I see exactly what you mean, ~katana2665 also mentioned the same thing! (hair looking brunette) I went back and lowered the opacity on the hair, I think she looks a bit more blond and better overall.
Originally was going for a 2 toned image so her hair and skin wouldn't be the same value. But it indeed made it look brunette.

I didn't know who she was, so i had to google her...(not Ooogle her)...she's a blond in most of the pics, but you have her as a brunette, fix that first and than see where you are...nice looking girl toon though.

Very true, when I went to shade her I was going for a 2 toned image with the white background strictly for highlights. And made the hair darker to contrast with her skin so it wasn't all monotone.
BUT, I totally agree with you it made her look brunette. I brought down the opacity on the hair to make it more blonde, Hows it look now?

Yep, now it looks more blond or at least in the range of dirty blond...She'd probably be really hot as a redhead.

i really like all of the poses but out of all of them i think you did the best on the top right, but its hard to explain why. just the simplicity of the pose and everything i guess. while you may not like them i think theyre all lovely!!

grand stuff, I like the freshness of them! ok so you may not have captured her *photo perfect* but it's given you some great pics and ideas for breaking up poses, line flow and a great overall kate upton "ness" which is important because you can transfer that "ness" easily onto other characters. and it's that which is the key to observation. think the bottom right is my fave.

Futile? Ha! These look amazing!
My only critique (if it can be considered cause you may have actually TRIED to do this XD; ) is that each drawing is a little inconsistent with style, mosty in the face. Mostly the top left and the one below it toward the right. They look different from the other three. 
Everything else looks fantastic! You know how to work shading, and I am a SUCKERRRR for long hair in art.

Thanks a lot for this thought out critique!! Its true, they are different styles, was seeing if I could capture her better in a more caricature/exaggerated? style. I DO have a problem with not being consistent in drawing faces and maybe I'm just not spending enough time or thought into it as I should be. (My opinion they all look like different girls)
Also working on drawing hair better haha, Long hair is DIFFICULT! lol

Oh man dont feel bad, I am WAY worse than you could be with consistency XD Even with characters I am used to drawing. 
It issss. It really is, lmao. It doesn't help it's my favorite thing to draw.
