Very nice...
The turned and depth perspective issues, the model, the desk and the lifted lid interaction may have been kinda tricky. It looks like it might've been a deceptively complicated pose to capture without it looking too awkward around the arms, but it looks great though. The shadow works too.
Style is very balanced.

Yeah, I wonder that myself. To get the reaction or compliment from the commissioner is always a pleasure, but to have compliments/reaction of the person it's drawn of is quite rewarding!
