So cute. I wonder if there are any other girls who are into this. I used to have the world's biggest crush on Thundarr and I would act like Ariel just so I could get a boyfriend who was like Thundarr. I actually succeeded twice on this LOL but I was so young and it seems like a life time ago. But yeah...

morning cartoon. Thundarr, in fact was a huge influence on many of the cartoons that came after it. But anyways, giving myself those experiences were so much fun

And as a kid, I couldn't help but see the creators of this show capitalizing on Star Wars. A gorgeous, fighting princess, a blond guy with a laser sword, and the big fuzzy sidekick.

I never saw it as a kid, but recently watched the series, goofy old school stuff… but had a charm! And the backgrounds with ruins of modern buildings were really cool. And Kirby contributed some character designs!
It was pulling references from all sides… it reminds me most of He-Man. They appeared around the same time, with the Thundarr series premiering a year before the He-Man toys apparently… Lot's of borrowing going on back then, there was also Blackstar– Star Wars was definitely responsible for the boom.

And yeah, I also forget that Kirby had a big part in this. That's why the guy with the double-head reminded me of Darkseid... or actually, I saw the Thundarr villain long before I saw Darkseid.
