Description
GUESS WHO I DECIDED TO RE-DESIGN THIS TIIIIIIIIMEHeh, yeah, this one in particular may take some getting used to, as I've had Ryn for so long (though the changes are, for the most part, very minor). The alterations are as followed:
-Her head tattoos, which were previously used to cover up some rather nasty burn scars, are now said rather nasty burn scars. Irken OCs generally tend to get ragged on a lot for having tattoos, piercings, etc. (however I'm keeping her piercings, simply because I'm far too used to them), so I decided to alter them a tad.
-Speaking of burn scars, see that patch of mangled, deformed skin right next to her left eye? That's a burn scar, too. Lazers seem to just love this little psycho.
-Her uniform no longer has stripes, just a long, crooked stitch down the front. It's also quite ragged and ripped at the hem, and features a tattered coattail, because isn't that just bloody original?
Well, that's all I really decided to change. I hope you guys like this design!

Oh? They tend to get ragged on for having tattoos? Really? I wasn't aware of that.
What else, out of curiosity, should people stay away from?
I like the design, by the way. Inspiring me to redraw my own Irken.
And possibly rename her.
... Or create a new character all together.
eeehugh.

Well, it isn't /terribly/ important, per say, to eliminate those types of features, as they are in fact merely fan characters. I just thought I'd alter my character's appearance a tad bit to make her look closer to canon, as well as a bit less flamboyant (while still keeping her charisma about her, naturally ). Though, again, this isn't necessarily a requirement. People tend to gripe at others in the IZ fandom for giving their Irken characters more detailed appearances than those that stay with a more "canon" demeanor, such as giving them tattoos, piercings, etc., etc.
I, personally, have no problem with giving a character a bit of extra pizzaz (is that how you spell it?), as long as it doesn't guild the lily too excessively, and don't think you should worry about it. If you're concerned about your character being a so-called "Mary Sue", that is. If you'd simply like to re-design them, then by all means, go right ahead! I find shaming other people's characters to be such a petty thing.
