As I was walking home in the pouring rain last weekend I was thinking to myself, what would the Badniks from the old Sonic games look like if they were real, living creatures rather than cartoony simplistic designs? The idea intrigued me so I've now set it about myself to try and recreate as many badniks as I can in a realistic form. A cruel future where Robotnik forces mechanical enhancements on animals, rather than simply imprisoning them into robot shells.

This is by far my favorite design and probably the one I spent the most time on. Even trying to find reference to a real mole was hard enough but I just had to put extra attention to detail on his functioning drill nose and treadmills. Most of these badnik designs only take an hour to make, this one took a lot longer but I think the hard work really paid off. I'm not sure which badnik I'm going to do next or how many more I'm going to do but Im gonna take a short break now while I enjoy the Halo Reach Beta.
(Also I earned myself Recon Armour last night, Hooray for me!)

(Note: I'm not sure If I'm going to attempt the Sonic 2 badniks once I'm done with Sonic 1, if I do it won't be for a while because I have other stuff to be getting on with and my work piles starting to overload now. But it's been a fun distraction and these designs have really helped me gain some new ideas and insperation for my own series, Katherine and Hippoloid which I soon want to get back to focusing on.)
