Description
A compilation of 5 sketches I did of Flandre and Shinki in other artists art styles, with the original artists image included as a reference. Scanning all these was a mother fucker in of itself, with this also being my first non-walfas work that is strictly touhou characters. As for why the goofy gameboard-ish layout; I didn't want to make this 5 seperate uploads, but also didn't want to have some random negative space. Figuring out the way I would do the panel borders/seperation equally was a puzzle in of itself, but I'm quite satisfied with the result myself. The color used is the color(s) I use for panels involving female characters in TLDR.Incase the names underneath the sketches I did aren't readable, here are the artists styles depicted)
Minato Hitori (Flandre) - Center (sketch/reference )
Fuantei (Shinki) - Top left(sketch), Bottom right(reference )
Jimakan (Flandre) - Middle left(sketch), Middle right(reference )
Yohinori (Shinki) - Bottom left(sketch), Top right(reference is nsfw, so really shouldn't post a link)

if i had to wager a guess, to get some practice at drawing/making non happy expressions, while still wanting to draw something unhappily adorable?

Really like these sketches! It just occurred to me that both characters have side tails on the left side.

you know, until you pointed that out(that i chose all images with said ponytails on the left side) i didn't even notice that myself...
Something i really want to try and do is drawing these characters in the artstyle(s) of touhou artists who haven't drawn these characters yet, because they probably never will (well for one of them atleast...)

I started thinking about the asymmetrical characters that Zun designed and I noticed that they usually have their asymmetrical feature on their left side. Marisa's braid is on her left side, Sanae's hairpiece is on her left side, Rumia's ribbon is on her left side, Daiyousei's sidetail is on her left side, Mokou's ribbons are on her left side, Kiene's ribbon is on her left horn (same with Suika) and Akyu's hairpiece is on her left side.
I'm sure there's more. I guess Zun just has a thing for people's left sides.
