I recently watched Unknown Island from 1948, on of the first movies to try and recreate the King Kong formula. It wasn't great, but it was pretty entertaining in it's own way. The best thing it has going for it, in my opinion, is it's giant sloth monster. He seems to be a forgotten Kaiju, that I'd really like to see make a comeback. In an era where there weren't many Kaiju movies, and most of them were ape and dinosaurs, a giant, bipedal, carnivorous sloth is pretty original. I think they should be called either Megascarium or Glothra ( G from giant + Loth from sloth + the common kaiju suffix Ra).
