Height: 170cm
About her: She was born blind, and her owners had little hope for a blind filly in the heavily wooded valley in the Dragon Mountains where her home farm was nestled. To the surprise of all she grew into a strong and powerful mare, whose sensitive hearing and sense of smell, innate sense of direction, and excellent memory allowed her to readily navigate her surroundings. Her blindness and heavy reliance on her hearing made her skittish and clumsy in noisy environments, and therefore an unreliable performer in the show ring. But in the quiet of the mountains and with a calm and patient rider she showed great skill under saddle, eventually being able to trust another to be her eyes. With the aid of a dressage bridle with a double rein, horse and rider were able to build up a large repertoire of commands to compensate for the lack of information she had of her surroundings.
She competes in Endurance and Competitive Trail rides, using a dressage bridle with a double rein and a traditional Farrosian saddle. She is ridden and trained by William Chevalier, and owned by the Descoteaux family of Avignon Forest Farm.
