Bio:Β In childhood, his mother was murdered. In high school, Barry had the reputation of being a calm and cool guy and be a little slow. One of his passions was chemistry. He got a scholarship and in three years graduated from college in organic chemistry and criminology. He earned a job at the Department of Science Police in Central City. Living there, he meets reporter Iris West during an investigation into a murder. She was charmed by his honesty and stability. One night, Barry was in the lab and was having a severe storm. Lightning struck the window, breaking it and striking Barry at the same time he was struck by chemical compounds. Gradually he discovers that the compounds gave him superhuman speed, using his powers to help mankind, Barry makes a costume that would withstand superhuman speed and become the Flash.
