SOOO finally got around to making my Land of the Lustrous OC ^^
(FYI: I'm going to refer to them with feminine pronouns in this description rn just cause otherwise all the 'they', 'them', 'their', ect. would start getting pretty confusing)

Name- Amber

Age- ???

Luster- Resinous

Hardness- 2.5

Crystal System- Amorphous Solid

Personality- Amber is kind-hearted to a reckless degree; upon her first encounter with a sunspot, she broke off her own arm and offered it to a Lunarian because she thought that it might appease them into being more friendly towards the other gems. She is a push-over, and an extremely gullible one at that, so her spare time is predominately spent ceaselessly running around taking care of errands for others. She is perky, easy to get along with, and prefers to go with the flow of any situation as opposed to protesting; her enthusiastic optimism makes her seem a bit foolish, but she unknowingly keeps the others in high spirits. Amber has a habit of regarding the other gems with a motherly kind of nature, given that she has witnessed most of their beginnings over the course of her own existence.

Background- Amber is not a mineral, like the other gems, but is instead the product of hardened resin and the microorganisms that were entrapped within it. This gem spent a few million years forming, but she can’t recall when exactly she started to gain a consciousness, so her true age is impossible to determine; even when Amber was fully formed, she had no means of escaping from within the ancient oak tree that encased her. As a result, she remained in a state similar to hibernation for several hundred years, though she still maintained some awareness of the world around her through the tree’s broad branches and roots that were interwoven amongst those of the entire forest. In moments of clarity between deep dreams, her voice could sometimes be heard on the wind through the leaves of the younger trees, having grown up all around her own tree, which had long since been petrified over the years. Amber was finally woken into the world by a powerful stray bolt of lightning that split her home trunk open just enough for her to wrench her limbs free from the hardened wood. She was found the following morning in pieces, both due to a rough awakening and a difficult time wrestling free from the stone-like prison of her fossilized tree. Her first glimpse of the world was a dark and soggy one due to the monsoon of the prior night, but her first ensuing sunrise was well worth the wait. Amber was already familiar with many of the other gems, though she’d previously known them only by sound and demeanor in passing contact with the forest; she had never been able to see their faces before. Even though she is technically older than the lot of the other gems combined, they all feel inclined to treat her as the youngest due to the recentness of her discovery. Her age has granted her vast wisdom in many ways, but being that sight, touch and movement are all very new to her, her curiosity often gives her an air of naivety.

Special Capabilities-
• Even though she is an extremely soft gem, given that her body is composed of hardened resin, even if she cracks under any amount of pressure, she can hold herself together just fine and carry on; so long as the fractured piece in question is not completely separated from her body at a distance.
• Since her body was formed from resin, in a pinch, she can also break off peices of her own body and use them as adhesive to put her comrades back together- the fix is only temporary, however, being that not everyones' inclusions will necessarily bode well with her own.
• Amber’s voice carries on the wind for as long as the breeze will take it; this allows her to spread any news quickly among the gems, and it also allows her to enjoy her hobby of singing a bit more.
• She is largely unaffected by seawater due to the fact that her body is composed mostly of resin.
