Donatello’s Story – Visions in Purple part 3
Following the defeat of the Hive Mind, Leo, Donnie, and Mikey have been reunited, and gained some measure of closure, finding Master Splinter’s body and holding a funeral for him. There is no time to rest or reflect, however, as they return to the upper levels of the sewer, they find it under assault once more by a new brand of Mouser. Donnie and Alopax return to their base, with the Forgotten, and find that not only have these new bots breached their defenses, they’ve killed several of their members. Though they manage to fight off the hoard, and disable a few for examination, their group has been largely demoralized, and his brother’s arrived soon after.
Collaborating information, they realize that, while the majority of their fighting force was down in the lower caverns, Stockman had initiated a pincer attack to eradicate their already exhausted mutants who had remained topside. Knowing that they couldn’t keep fighting endlessly, the leaders of each group agree to relocate to the lower sewers to, temporarily, live with the Leatherhead clan. While there, they appoint Alopax as their representative and form a smaller coalition to investigate and kill Stockman if need be. This coalition includes: Hobb, Cutter, Leonardo, Donatello, and Michelangelo. Knowing that they had a potential ally in April and Raphael, the team tentatively breached the surface to hunt her down.
Finding the hideout they had lived in empty, Donnie is able to track her down via her pod-cast channel (leaving a coded message on it while the others had been scouting out Stockman Tower for entry points), which she saw and eventually got back to him about. After explaining the situation to her, she agrees to help but also that she is currently being held by the Foot Clan, meaning that the group has to infiltrate and rescue her before she can help them.
While attempting the rescue, Donnie, Leo, and Mikey are almost captured themselves and forced to fight their way out (clashing against the Karai, Tatsu, and Hun while the Shredder watches from a distance. Eventually they are saved by Hobb, blowing a hole in the side of the building, but, after several leading comments from the Foot Clan, the brothers are forced to confront April over the apparent death of Raphael, which she acknowledges. She goes on to admit that they had been fighting against Stockman all wrong, trying to undermine him, bring him to justice in a court of law, she swears to bring him down, by any means necessary, and then, she will turn her attention to the Foot Clan.
Together they formulate a plan, essentially, they’re stealing Stockman’s Pincer attack, assaulting the Helipad on the Roof (to prevent his escape) and also the underground garage (which houses the main generator for the building and allows unrestricted access to the building’s mainframe). Donnie, Leo, and Cutter are chosen to attack the Helipad (The opening salvo which will draw attention away from the rest of the building) and approach the roof using improvised Jet-packs (essentially hot air balloons attached to fans so that they can guide their way in). While they engage the guards on the roof, Hobb, April, and Mikey approach through the basement, hack the mainframe, and put the building on lockdown. They then begin to slowly work their way up to the labs to, hopefully, prevent Stockman from sending his robot forces after them.
Stockman calls to the Shredder, wanting the ninjas to reinforce his guards, but the Shredder ignores the call, sitting back and waiting to see how things play out. Frustrated and angry, Stockman dons a suit of power armor to confront the assailants on the helipad. Meanwhile, April’s group is having trouble of their own, as the Mousers have not left the labs, Yet, but are guarding it and respond violently to their intrusion. The trio is almost overwhelmed by sheer numbers when Raphael and Nobody rush in to save the day, holding off the hoard long enough for April to access their central database and shut them all down. This does little to help the assault team on the roof, since Stockman’s mech-suit operates on a separate system.
Seeing that the Power Armor has already knocked out Cutter, Raph and Mikey go to assist their brothers while Hobb and Nobody continue to hold the line against the onslaught of incoming guards so that April can continue to enact her ultimate plan. Raph and Mikey reunite with their brothers, but, even with the four of them, Stockman’s armor is just too damn powerful, they can’t damage it significantly or disable it, but they do manage to hold out long enough for April to reprogram the legion of mousers. Not only do the small robots scatter the guards, but it’s Stockman’s turn to be overwhelmed as the little monsters bite through his servos, pushing him off the roof to crater into the sewers below.
The turtles to examine the body but find the armor empty, however, Nobody has the idea to rig the attack to make it seem like a Mouser malfunction. Even if the guards tell the truth, the authorities will just think they’re crazy, and the realization that the ‘plague stopping robots’ were actually defective electronics will get the company defunded. Even if Stockman comes back, he won’t have an empire to run. While Nobody fades out to erase the security cam footage, April and the turtles have a tearful reunion and go off to celebrate their victory.
Meanwhile, the Shredder makes his move.
