My original description got deleted when the page decided to refresh???? after the 7th paragraph, so I assume that meant I was carrying on for too long.

SO. Thaddeus. Love him. He's my favorite ancestor. In my rewrite of my original idea, he's still trans, but doesn't mind wearing dresses when the occasion calls for it. He's jovial, wry and clever, putting years of dance lessons and a taste for costumes to good use. His base of operations is an opera house, with a semi-popular troupe of actors, singers and dancers, with his husband Charles. He adopted the name of Thaddeus after his late father, who died under "mysterious circumstances", at least that's what Thaddeus says. He's quick with a fib and white lie, and loves when he's put on the spot as it gives him a chance to spin a new tale.

There is a kernel of truth in his explanation. When Thaddeus was younger, about 17, he was being considered as a prospective 'wife' for a wealthy landowner. The man couldn't have cared less and actively tried to make himself seem as unattractive as possible. But the landowner simply wouldn't stop pursuing him until he stated outright that he'd rather die in a fire. Well. A fire ended up burning down the Cooper homestead not a week later and Thaddeus narrowly escaped with few valuables and a book on his family's history. The Thievious Raccoonus.

The night is forever burned into the backs of his eyes, and all he remembers was a dark figure overtaking the skies as he ran from the burning building.

Down the line, Thaddeus dons his 'old self' for a day and gets married to Charles, and puts on a grand performance of a blushing bride. Joke's on them! He's a blushing groom! He's tricked them!

As far as his thieving went, he stole from snobby aristocrats and people who gave him bad reviews in the newspaper. And finally, eventually, gets back at the man who ordered his family's destruction.

There could be more in the future, but I'm lazy

EDIT: Hey! I'm adding more! Like many of his ancestors, he carries a rendition of the Cooper Cane. The umbrella is a reinforced metal, suitable for impromptu sword-fighting and Mary Poppins-esque gliding from neighboring rooftops.
