Rainbow: Great job, kiddo. Now the real fun can start!
Kaboom: C-can't we rest for a second, momma?
Rainbow: Rest? Why? You tired?
Kaboom: N-no. Just thought you might want to.
Rainbow: Aw, that's sweet of you, KB, but I'm good to go!
Kaboom: ...cool...
Rainbow: All right, so I'll tell you what kiddo; you beat your mom to that cloud over there, and you can have an extra piece of pie for dessert tonight. Sound like a deal?
Kaboom: Yeah...sounds good.
Rainbow: All riiiiiiight! On your mark, get set...GO!
-Rainbow speeds off, leaving Kaboom behind on the cloud. He falls back, exhausted-
Kaboom: Oof...
-Rainbow looks back behind her, seeing Kaboom back at the cloud-
Rainbow: What the-?!
-she pulls a u turn and heads back to Kaboom-
Rainbow: Kaboom! What the hay are you doing, kid?!
Kaboom: Oh, uh...sorry momma. Guess I was a little tired.
Rainbow: Huh. Well, I guess we can call it a day for now if you're pooped.
Kaboom: Thank Celestia...
Rainbow: Tomorrow we can race!
Kaboom: ...
Rainbow: Well come on, slow poke! Home's not getting any closer.
Kaboom: Coming, momma...

When he was still a colt, Kaboom pretended to be into flying. He didn't want to make Rainbow look "uncool" for not having a sporty kid. But shortly after this he told her the truth, and their relationship became more distant.
