Description     113 mya in what would known as the Crato Formation, a massive forest fire rages through the area. Most creatures flee the area for safety, but some creatures stay behind due to confusion.  One of theses instances is a Ubirajara jubatus pouncing on a compsognathid assumed to be a Mirischia asymmetrica. They are locked in combat, their hazzy minds filled with rage caused from the panic and sickening smog of the fire. Meanwhile, a pair of Tupandactylus navigans are overlooking the inferno and scavenging on the brunt carcasses of the unfortunate creatures would couldn't escape in time.

These piece was inspired by the Brazilian wildfires of 2020 and some of the paleontological controversies in that region.
There controversies are:
Tupandactylus found in police raid: journals.plos.org/plosone/arti…
On top of the fallen log is a Tupandactylus navigans that look like the "Johnny Bravo" specimen which was a victim of fossil poaching. It was confiscated by local police during a raid at Santos Harbour, São Paulo State along with other fossil specimens.
Tetrapodophis is not a snake: scitechdaily.com/a-fossil-of-a…
In the bottom right, near a log there is a stem snake that was supposed to be Tetrapodophis amplectus. A new study in November 2021 has redescribed Tetrapodophis amplectus as a semiaquatic dolichosaur squamate instead of a  terrestrial stem snake.
The smuggling of Ubirajara and Tetrapodophis: www.science.org/content/articl…  en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetrapod…
Also victims of fossil poaching, Ubirajara and Tetrapodophis were both illegally exported from Brazil to Germany. Protests have been made for the Ubirajara specimen to be repatriated to a Brazilian institution.

There has been a  controversial study in September 2021 made by Andrew Cau which reclassified the Italian compsognathid Scipionyx and a few other compsognathids as juvenile specimens of larger theropods (Scipionyx proposed to be a juvenile carcharodontosaur).   With this study in mind,I  put a megaraptoran in the background which could be either interrupted as a predator using the fire as a opportunity to hunt or a mother looking for its lost chick, The juvenile being Mirischia, due to how little fossil evidence we have on it.

I was also inspired by Charles R. Knight's  "Leaping Laelaps" and Hyrotrioskjan (Joschua Knüppe) Megaraptoran panorama .
