The pumpkin shaped bucket swung around as he ran towards the next house. He skidded to a stop and knocked on the door, "Trick or treat!" He smiled and held the bucket towards the person in the door. The person chuckled and dropped a few pieces of candy in the bucket.
"Thank you miss!" The boy turned and began running towards the next house.
He let out a small yelp when he crashed into someone and caused them both to fall, all the candy spilling out onto the ground.
"S-Sorry!" The boy pushed himself up, "I wasn't looking where I was going!"
"It's fine! I'm Lune, who are you?" The boy he had crashed into shrugged, staring at the other.
"A-Al.." Al just noticed the awkwardness of their positions and was now blushing as he got up.
"Aren't you a little old for trick or treating?" Lune tilted his head curiously.
Al shook his head, "Nope! You're never too old!" Al fell backwards onto the sidewalk when Lune sat up.
"Fair enough." Lune grabbed one of the lollipops littering the ground and unwrapped it before popping it in his mouth.
"Hey, that's mine!" Al whined, trying to grab it back.
"Nope, mine now. You ran into so I should get something." Lune talked through the lollipop.
Al crossed his arms and stared at Lune from the ground, "But it's mine." He grabbed the rest of the candy and put it back in the bucket.
Lune smiled and wrote something on a slip of paper before handing it to Al, "See ya." Lune walked away. Al looked at the paper before looking at Lune leaving, "Wait, what?"
Al shrugged and put the paper in his pocket before continuing his quest for candy.

Al walked into the nearly empty school library, going straight to the manga section. The one place he actually felt safe, mostly. If they came in here, he wouldn’t be safe, of course. He just hoped he wouldn’t.
Of course, since he was the unluckiest person alive, they did.
Al hid behind one of the shelves, watching them. He felt his hands shaking, terrified now.
Al felt someone grab him and he tensed up, “L-Let go..” He could feel tears rolling down his face.
“Shut up.” Al immediately stopped, screaming in his head but too afraid to do it aloud.
“Why weren’t you over last night?” Al felt him wrap his arm around his waist, “You promised.”
Al looked away, “I-It was halloween, Mark…” Al wiped tears from his face.
“That’s not an excuse, Al, you know that.” Mark stood up and pulled Al with him.
“W-What are you-” Al was cut off by Mark suddenly hitting his jaw. Al blinked, eyes wide, staring at the other. “I will tell you when to speak.” Mark hissed, turning away and shoving Al towards the bathroom. Al was still processing the fact that Mark had hit him. Sure, he’d thrown insults at him, but, Mark did love him, right? He had to.
Al was broken out of his thoughts by Mark kissing him roughly, holding him against the wall.

Al leaned against his bed, staring at the slip of paper Lune had given him. He stared at the number, wondering if he should call it.
He grabbed his phone and dialed the number.
“Please pick up…” Al whispered, shaking again. The phone was on the last ring when Lune picked up.
“Hello?”
“Lune?”
“Yes. Who is this?”
“Al. From two nights ago?”
“Oh! What is it?”
“C-Can I come over to your house…?”
“...Sure? I can text you the address.”
Al took a deep breath and rubbed the large bruise on his jaw. He heard the buzz of his phone, indicating that Lune had texted him. Al smiled slightly and grabbed his keys.

Al walked up to the door, taking a deep breath. He knocked on the door and waited a moment before the door opened.
“Al? What happened?” Lune was staring at the growing bruise. Al looked away, “L-Later...”
Lune nodded, letting Al in.
“So, why’d you want to come over?” Lune asked, directing Al to the couch.
“...I need-” Al’s phone buzzed loudly. He pulled it out and read the first text.
“Shit.” Al fell backwards, “Why now..” He put his phone down and pulled his knees to his chest.
“What’s wrong?” Lune looked over at the phone, texts still coming in.
Where are you?!

Every message followed the same theme, some worse than others. Lune moved over to Al, “Shh, it’ll be okay…” He went to hug Al when he felt him tense up.
“...No…” Al whispered, pulling away from Lune.
“Al, it’ll be okay…” Lune whispered, “It’ll be fine…”
Al looked at Lune, “N-No, it won’t…” He was shaking more.
Al looked at his phone, the new messages being threats.
“...H-He loves me, he j-just has a different way of showing it…” Al looked away.
Lune stared at Al, “Al, did he hit you?” He asked. Al nodded slowly, “...Y-Yes… But I deserved it…” Lune shook his head, “No, no you didn’t.”
“Yes I did. I-I didn’t listen, so he h-hit me.” Al whispered, “I deserved it every time…”
Lune looked at the phone for a moment before looking back at Al, “What else has he done?”
Al shook his head, "Nothing.."
Lune watched Al carefully, "I'll be right back."
Lune grabbed a container of ice cream and two spoons before going back to Al, "Here.."

Lune smiled at Al, watching the other sleep. He pulled the blanket sitting on the end of the couch over Al and looked at the phone.
