The recent period of creative abstinence began to erode me with such subtlety that its dire effects, like slow acting poison, were not immediately felt.
Purpose and identity are ideas, even forces that, when lost reduce a life to mere existence. The struggle to understand my place in the world is soothed by my ability to draw.
Sometimes I wonder if my pencils are no more than distractions that give my mind respite from the dread realisation of my unstoppable journey to oblivion.
