Description According to an Irish myth the first Irish wolfhound used to be a woman. The woman was married to a man that used to have a fairy lover. And when the fairy found out her former lover had gotten married she became jealous. So jealous that she transformed the woman into a Wolfhound. The woman was pregnant when she was transformed and soon gave birth to two wolfhound puppies. They lived for a while as wolfhounds in the man's home until he one day figured out who they really were. He managed eventually to cure his wife of the curse. But their children were stuck as Wolfhounds as they had been born as dogs. The two Wolfhound children soon had children of their own and that's why we still have Wolfhounds today.
