Description
It's been over 5 years since I posted this image of Blaze on DeviantArt. I remade this image as you can see above. In those 5 years I've managed to improve my skills a little bit, but more importantly I think Blaze in that time has evolved into quite a character and I believe she has a little bit of a following to boot which I am forever grateful for.
The main purpose of this post however is not the image or to show how far I've come with my Daz3d capabilities, but rather to give you watchers and potential fans of my character Blaze a chance to ask me anything about her. So if you wish to know anything about Blaze that I havn't ever mention or covered over the years she has been in Deviant Art and projects such as Deviant Universe and Secret Wars, now is the time to do it. Hence, Question Time!
How it works? Simple, simply leave a comment on this image asking anything you might want to know about Blaze and I will answer to the best of my abilities, whether it be about something of her past, about her future or perhaps more out of character things regarding her creation. I will be answering the questions as thedude255 and not in-character (though in the future if there is demand I could always set something up like that).
In about a week's time, I'll post an Eclipse version of this if it goes well enough. I would ask though that if you do have questions that they at least have the requirement of being related to Blaze.
Yeah this is a bit of a random project, but I wanted to try it out and I'm curious to see if you guys wish to know anything about my character that has never been covered. So... if you are interested... fire away

I got one, blaze has regen abilities but what are the limits to it? I mean, if someone attacks her during regeneration does she die for real?

Her regen ability does not start until she is dead, attacking her whilst her body regenerates will most likely only delay the process but not stop it. When her body recovers from severe wounds, it is only then she comes back to life. The downside is that the regen stops when she comes back to life. So fatal wounds that were inflicted, will still remain as wounds when she comes back, they will just be healed past being fatal.
An example would be if she was shot several times and killed. Her body would heal the wounds to the point that Blaze can make a natural recovery on her own. She would wake up and still have gunshot wounds, but the bleeding would have stopped and whatever internal injuries had been inflicted would be mostly recovered. However she would still carry moderate wounds as they would have not fully healed her, at that point she needs to take time out to naturally recover herself.
That is not to say Blaze cannot be permanently killed, there are also temporary solutions to keep her deceased as well which could potentially be permanent if her body is not discovered. Disintegration would be the most certain way of killing Blaze, as little to no trace of her body will mean her body will not regenerate, that is the most certain way to kill Blaze and not worry about her coming back. There are other methods too, if she is killed and you can bury her body in a place without air, such as underground or underwater or send her corpse into space, the regeneration will occur, but since the environment is uninhabitable, her body will be unable to restart her life meaning she will remain dead. This process does not completely kill her however, as if her body is rediscovered she will once more return to life once pulled back into a livable environment.
Though Blaze can be killed, the issue is getting her to stay dead. What helps her is that she has kept this ability secret. Only two people know she has it, one person being the one who gave her this power and the other being her father.
Hope that answers your question

I really love this image, man! I think it looks awesome - and I like Blaze's new, less revealing outfit.
Yes, I said that Because I think it fits her character better, as you called her somewhat of a tomboy in the past.
And I also totally understand and support the fact that Joshua is still there, even though he's gone
As for questions ... I think I know a lot more about Blaze than most other people and I don't know if the things, I don't know, you may left in the dark so far on purpose. So if I can think of any ordinary questions, I will post them here.

Yeah I think this outfit is probably a permanent outfit for her now, and not just in DU. We'll probably still see her original look but no doubt a lot less often since I did this new look myself Thanks for the kind compliment for the image, it was actually one of my fasted made images in recent times, but it turned out better then I thought it would since I just mashed together loads of backgrounds XD
As for questions don't worry about it, I don't mind answering anything. If something comes to mind, don't hesitate to ask it

I must say I really like blaze overall as a character.
What was the inspiration behind her costume design ?

The original costume didn't have inspiration behind it per say, but was all I had available at the time. However the cloak that dangles from the back of her waist has always been something I've wanted to add to the character since her original creation and that was something I've managed to have. There wasn't really any inspiration behind that feature though, it was just something I wanted her to have Granted, when I first created her in my mind, I did have an outfit not too different from Jill Valentine's from Resident Evil 5 (the one with the cap, before her change. I also had this in mind before that outfit existed XD) Just something slightly militaristic to suit her background.
As for the newer costume, I recently just had a bit of a chance to update Blaze since I had a lot more items in my library. Same again I just wanted something to suit her character, and ended up mix matching different concepts I had in mind.

Three questions (sorry for being greedy ):
1. How deadly and skillful is she really up till now? Like Deathstroke deadly?
2. If you decided on giving her a new power set (like say becoming a Super Saiyan as example Lol), what would your personal choice of power would it be?
3. When or if Omega returns back to DU, you think Blaze would be locked, loaded and ready for round 2 battle against him?

thedude255 In reply to Primal-Mythos [2014-03-19 21:10:32 +0000 UTC]
Three questions is not greedy at all. I certainly put no limits to how many questions could be asked so knock yourself out
1: I think you hit the nail on the head with Deathstroke as an example. I don't really do Blaze enough justice given her skill set and abilities. She is excellent with a gun, and her own personal pistols are very advanced in tech making them powerful, plus Blaze is super fast and extremely agile and quick thinking. She probably should be much more powerful then I portray her, but I tend to have great respect for other peoples characters and what not. Rest assured though, Blaze is very skillful and deadly
2: Hmm, never really thought about it to be honest. If I had to pick a new power set for Blaze, it would have to be something that would suit her name such as pyrokenesis or the such. I do already have a character that fits that bill though.
3: Of course! Blaze is pretty damn reckless when it comes to choosing her opponents, but she'd love to have a chance to fight Omega again. After what happened last time she'd love the chance to even the score next time. Given Omega's abilities though, I think Blaze might have a hard time without some help from some friends mind you XD

Two Questions:
1) If you could have your perfect-endgame, how would you want Blaze's story to come to an end?
2) What are Blaze's actual thoughts on romance?

thedude255 In reply to Latroma [2014-03-19 01:43:54 +0000 UTC]
1: Heh, the killer question. I think bitter sweet style ends are most fitting for the character and myself. I always give my characters a hard time on their journey, so generally I feel they need something good by the end of it. I do a lot of peril works as you know and I always feel the same about them, by the end I want to always see a victory or eventual rescue because I'd hate to see a bad ending after so much suffering.
Blaze has had it hard but always finds a way to soldier on instead of succumbing, so I feel for her end game she needs to get something back for all that hardship. Generally speaking I don't wish to see her story come to an end, but there is always an end to everything. It would definitely have to be related to Dr. Kane who was the one who killed Joshua, her husband. Like he is finally brought down in a manner in which the entire world sees. I think for all the crap Blaze goes through, for her end game I'd like to see her do something truly epic and heroic. I can imagine the world turning against her during her end game, though I'd like to think whatever it is over, Blaze is in the right. She'd sacrifice herself by the end I believe to save the world that hates her, because after so much time she doesn't really know how to do anything else but protect the world and what little she cares about. I think a truly epic and heroic end would be suitable for Blaze, but I reckon she would not live to see what becomes of her sacrifice.
It's a pretty open question though, and that is just what comes to mind now XD I could probably think up of about three other perfect endgame story ending moments to be honest
2: Sadly not much thoughts for romance presently Blaze has a dark heart at the best of times because of the way she was brought up. She opened herself up to romance once with Joshua. When he died, what part of Blaze could feel true romance seemingly died with him. His death along side of her teammates was devastating to her emotionally. Blaze was warned not to start a relationship with teammates but she did anyway, and she was hurt badly because of it.
She did have a relationship with Cooolstorm's character Tina Kelly some years afterwards which lasted for a time and helped her ease the inner turmoil and pain she felt over Joshua's death. She sadly broke up with Tina however when Tina Kelly wanted their relationship to become more serious. Blaze did not want to commit to a serious relationship and thus ended it. She hasn't truly got over Josh's death since he was taken from her, and I think it still hangs over her now, putting a block on her emotions to feel any kind of real love for another.

1) All perfectly viable ideas ^_^
2) *nods* In other words, while she's had a dalliance, she's still lost in Joshua's shadows, and it's hard to seek out things of the heart.

How did you have Blaze and Eclipse meet each other and become allies?

thedude255 In reply to Lecter-the-Mu [2014-03-19 01:18:06 +0000 UTC]
That is actually something I've never covered in-character now that you've mentioned it. The two have vastly different backgrounds and their personalities are quite different too. Eclipse's creation came a good couple of months after Blaze first appeared, though when I did first start roleplaying for the character, it was just established that the two already knew each other and had been friends and allies for some time.
I think it stemmed from the fact that I began roleplaying with the characters before Daz3d was even a concept to me, and thus I had both of them in the same site with the two of them on the same team, so it just felt like the two should already know each other. Given how friendly Eppy is, its hard for people not to befriend her, and it felt like Blaze would follow that trend. I toyed with the idea of changing the origins of the two characters, though to this day I haven't done so, and thus in Blaze and Eppy canon, the two worked together in the same hero team in the past, and that friendship has carried over since the two departed from said team to go their own ways.
How they first met, I honestly haven't thought about it. I've never shown their first meeting. It is kind of like with a variety of comics really with established teams. As it stands they just... know each other and have done for a while XD Perhaps the first meeting it is something I could explore in the future, but I guess a definitive answer to this question would be that they met each other and became allies through working together on the same super hero team.
That team was called Maximum Force, named after the website. It was short lived unfortunately, but I still carry that history in canon for both characters.

As for a question, I'm wondering, how did you come up with Blaze?

thedude255 In reply to Zorzathir [2014-03-19 01:08:32 +0000 UTC]
With my mind noggin' naturally
In all seriousness though, she was basically a mishmash of various influences, from character designs to personality traits and abilities. I like to think many characters probably begin that way, and Blaze was certainly no exception. When I first wandered onto DA and the Roleplay scene, I discovered so many original characters and kind of wanted to be a part of that. Blaze was my way into that creative world. I based her appearance on characters I liked such as Rinoa from Final Fantasy VIII and based her powers on characters I liked such as Kenji Murasame from Giant Robo: The Day the Earth Stood still. From there however, she took a life of her own. Out of my characters she is the easiest to write for simply because I feel like I know the character so well now... she pretty much writes for herself and what not

Okay, I'm not too familiar with those characters but I'm glad to see that she was developed into what she currently is. And you're write, she's one of those characters that would say a lot about herself, while not giving too much away.

What exactly was the main inspiration behind the creation of Blaze?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
thedude255 In reply to ClockwerkSoul [2014-03-19 01:02:38 +0000 UTC]
I won't lie in saying that there were multiple inspirations that all contributed in someway to Blaze's creation. I suppose the main thing I began with before I even started to build up her personality was her power. She didn't start off as a speedster on initial design though it was always intended she was genetically modified. Instead her only ability was the resurrection power she possesses. The inspiration for that power which ended up being the core of her creation came from a character named Kenji Murasame from an anime called Giant Robo. He was my favorite character in the show, having a very colourful appearance but possessing a resurrection ability. I loved how he was able to always put his life on the line for the mission and for his allies, taking bullets for the team and what not whilst also being a highly skilled agent.
I wanted to make a character be able to do what he could, and that is what kicked off Blaze, though she evolved past that initial concept. Still, I'd say that character Kenji Murasame is probably the main inspiration in her creation. Since being finalized she now has a small list of abilities thanks to genetic modification, and her resurrection ability serves more as a major storyline point to her character as I began to fear utilizing it would make her seem like an incapable character who would have died long ago had she have not had it.
