not current ones unfortunately. Its kinda straightforward though. i tend to just lay down strokes till something sticks and go with it till i call the piece done

This is amazing...does this style have a certain term? I'd love to be able to create this style of art - do you have any tutorials that you would recommend for this sort of illustration?

i think you can find a few good tutorials in my 'useful stuff' journal. there isnt a name for this style that i know of. im kind of just messy when i paint so it ends up looking the way it is when im done

You often see a deliberately messy, focal-point intensive artwork like this in the concept art industry. The simplest term I could use is "painterly," as in the style takes a lot of visual cues from traditional oil and acrylic paintings.

In paintings like this, most of the detail work is given to only the most important parts of the image - the focal points, such as this man's face and armour. Everything apart from him is not so heavily detailed.
