Failed games workshop art test, but still pretty fun to paint space marines... Definitely gonna try more 40k stuff in the future

Honestly, GW fails harder than you do. This might sound like a cliche of some kind, but I really do mean it; you're too good for GW. GW has no idea what they're doing, what direction to take, what to do with the rules, what their fans want, or why the fluff and universe appeals to the fans.
WH40k is slowly starting to circle the drain and Warhammer Fantasy was killed off in the most nonsensical manner ever, to give way for something that doesn't really appeal to anyone. The only flaw in this art is that it's an Ultramarine.

Thanks for the comment man! Yea it was a shame what happened to Fantasy. i totally didnt see that coming. As for the art test, well they have their reasons and i respect it so i guess no luck for me doing official 40k art yet

Great pose and point of view! And I love the unfinished, rough look of that painting, even if it may have been the reason why it was declined. Also, I kind of wish that the orks will pull themselves together and (accidentally) kill the space marine

Only a great artist trying to strive to be better would call this a failure. But who are we to judge, I don't think it's a failure at all. If anything, I'd call it at least a stepping stone, because I find this pretty fantastic.

Does anyone ever succeed in their test? Because I only see endless failures, but not a single one success. And GW explanations are usually just generic copy/paste answers.
