The thing I first saw of Jesse was his burnt white-gray Kama under all this rubble. His armor was scratched and had scorch marks all over it, but it was mostly intact. Is it strange, that I was surprised not to find a single drop of blood on my Vod's body when I pulled him out? His helmet was cracked at his right side, showing a large blooming bruise on his cheek and jaw when I removed it. If I hadn't known better, I would have guessed him just sleeping after a long mission. But the unnatural way his head shifted in my arms betrayed the peaceful image. At least my Vod's end was quick.
