Summer is over... and now it's time to return to school. ;_;
I will still work on my stories, but expect my upload rate to be very slow. Chances are that I will have a fuck-ton of work to do, and I'll have to slow down my story progress to keep my grades out of the gutter. It sucks, but delays are a neccesary evil in the literature industry.

[Somewhere on the East Coast]

An eevee sits back in his chair contently. This had been a good summer for him, one that he was not likely to forget for a long, long time.
Calmly, he glances at his computer's built-in clock. 7:00. he thinks to himself. Almost time for Top Gear. His eyes then drift down a few pixels to the date.
Instantly, his eyes widen. No... it can't be... He rubs his eyes, blinks a few times, and glances back to see the same exact date on the screen. This can't be happening. He thinks, rushing over to window. With the gaze of trained writer, he looks over the scene before him. The trees are still green as ever, but he knows not to trust anything at first glance. Carefully, he stares at tree in his front yard and finds, to his growing horror, a single golden leaf hidden behind the green.
I must be seeing things again... He thinks, jumping up and undoing the window lock. With his muzzle, he pushes the window open and sticks his head out into the now-crisp air. It's still very warm out, but not as much as the past few weeks. He can smell the scent of maple sap in the air, nature's signal that the seasons are changing.
No, no, no! Panicking, the eevee rushes upstairs to check the calendar. Sure enough, he finds the date; September third. More importantly, he finds that, to his horror, the next day has a big red circle around it in sharpie.
Finally, he cannot deny it anymore. Whimpering, the eevee slowly makes his way back down to his laptop. With a shaking paw, he clicks on Microsoft Word and opens a file titled "Summer To-Do List." To his dismay, less than a third of the items on it are complete. Tears rush to his eyes as he scans down the list. So much left to be done... But I've run out of time.

[The Next Day]

Groggily, the eevee awakens from his sleep. For a moment, he is confused by the room's darkness, then his revelation from the previous day hits him like a brick. His head snaps around to look at his bedside clock- 5:00 AM. A light pink paw taps him on the shoulder. "Wake up, Sean. The school bus arrives in an hour." Slowly, as if in a daze, the eevee follows his espeon mother downstairs to have breakfast.
To the outside world, the eevee simply seems a bit depressed, maybe somewhat tired. But inside his head, his mind is filled with a single word.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
