Sylvester the Cat = Persian. Of all the cat Pokemon Persian seemed the most appropriate. Persian can be a simple house cat, but also a hunter. The red gem also fits with Sylvester's red nose.
Tweety Bird = Swablu's are known for their singing like canaries are. Both are cute. Also Swablu's shiny is a gold/yellow color
