Description
Eyz presents SEGA ClassicsGreendog from the Greendog: The Beached Surfer Dude! game.
I just made a review on my blog here
I'm not a big fan of the game itself but it seems he's kinda considered a classic for many Megadrive/Genesis fans, so here goes!
Greendog, the almost Sega Mascot of the 16-bit era, I salute you!
See you next time... :'3

Hey what a "classic" this is. xD
In response to something in your review, incidentally! The Greendog character actually didn't come from Sega internally, he's owned by one "Ric Green" (on whom the character is based), a non-beached surfer dude who I guess was shopping the IP around, and Sega of America was the only company that bit. There's an interview with him in an old Sega Visions (alongside one with the creator of Chakan the Forever Man--he at least made a comic book!) in which Green says that the character merchandising was going to be huge, but of course that never happened. I've often wondered what happened to Ric Green and his plans for greatness.

You could easily answer on the blog if you wanted to!
(no need for a google account for that!)
But he sitll is a Sega IP in the end, even if made from external talent. (such as PokΓ©mon by Gamefreaks at Nintendo)
And now that you mention Chakan, I gotta say, that's one heckuva awesome game!

Yeah but I wouldn't get a notification if you replied.
I'm not suggesting he isn't associated with Sega! But I wonder if he is a Sega IP, it's not like Sega owns Chakan, or Dinosaurs for Hire, and they definitely don't own ToeJam & Earl, even if they have been the publisher in the past. (A DS sequel was pitched to many publishers but no one picked it up.)
Apparently GreenDog debuted in a board game called "Surf Trip" in 1989! [link]
