Tac blinked, not a single expression changing on his face as he watched Ryan scramble around before tossing the pan into the weeds, running back in attempts to stomp out the camp fire that had slightly spilled from his make-shift ring.

Tac rest his chin in the palm of his hand as he watched the taller man kicking dirt up onto the smoldering coals. He stopped finally, panting as he stared down at the mess he’d made before looking sheepishly back to Tac. Tac gurgled, and Ryan went and retrieved the pan, coming back to sit next to the younger boy, dropping what was left of erm… something in front of them.

Tac could seem the shame clearly written on Ryan face as he stared at it, and he hadn’t said a word, that was never a good thing when it came to Ryan. Tac sighed through his nose. Well, so much for the quail. He gave a chirp and Ryan slowly looked over to where Tac gave him a silent of ‘it’s fine’. It could be hard to read Tac, when one didn’t know him. But Ryan had learned to pick up on even the slightest hints.

He perked up, smiling over to the mute before letting a quiet laugh escape his lips. “Er, well, I guess I got distracted.” Ryan said quietly. Tac waved a hand, confirming Ryan had read him right. “Well, want to try fishing?” Ryan asked, unable to keep a grin off his features, Tac said nothing, but he knew he’d come. It was a hot day anyway, even hotter with the fire, it’d be nice to hang out by the water. Or maybe in the water…

Tac glanced away casually before standing up, and he held out his hand. Ryan’s heart leapt and he took it slowly, allowing himself to be helped up. Not even bothering to pick up the pan as he lead the way, because hey, they were coming right back.
