Oh how I always loved this episode haha I'd always use it as an example of Star Trek's treatment of time travel and causality.

Yeah, it's probably the best time travel episode.

Well, I don't know, depends on how you define that. Β Best time travel episode, or best episode featuring time travel. Β A lot of people will argue for "City on the Edge of Forever." Β Just saying haha

To say the least I usually go for an extreme close up or just rotate to a distant shot. TheΒ theatricalΒ angles really just suck without a moving scene.

They must have hit the nacelle right in the wrong spot, because I'd think that such a large and seemingly critical component of a starship wouldn't be so vulnerable to catastrophic damage

Yeah, it's funny that that small bump could kill off a Galaxy class starship...

Great render, Dave. Cause and Effect, one of favorite TNG episodes. Picard should have listened to his number 1 than his number 2.

Crusher: "Casualty reports coming in from all over the ship!"
The starboard nacelle has sustained a direct impact! We're venting drive plasma!"
LaForge: "Initiating emergency core shutdown!"
Helmsman: "Inertial dampers failing! We're losing attitude control!"
This is the bridge! All hands to emergency escape pods!"
*ship spins violently from force of right nacelle explosion*
"Core shutdown is unsuccessful! We're losing antimatter containment!"
LaForge: "We've got to eject the core!"
"Ejection systems offline! Core breach imminent!"
"All hands abandon ship! Repeat: All hands aban..."
*ship explodes, killing everyone on board*

Very interesting episode, one of my faves. I kinda hoped that they would've shown some of the Soyuz class ships in Star Trek after that episode but they didn't.

They showed one in the Ships of the Line calendar, though only in the background. Guess who made the 3D model

Oooh, I wasn't expecting this scene to be done. Now that you mention the size of the Bozeman, isn't the warp nacelle itself on the Enterprise considerably longer than the Bozeman itself? Feels like Enterprise's nacelle could skewer that ship.

Hmm, let me check *checks Ex-Astris-Scientia* yupp, the Galaxy nacelle is about as long as the whole Bozeman.

I remember seeing the opening of this episode as a kid and being completed confused. Why would they destroy the Enterprise? I flipped to another channel, flipped back and it was after the opening credits, and I was lost. Oh, how naive I was back then...
Nice recreation, love the use of a different angle!
