Some GI and ambient occlusion, and some further color grading and film grain... this would look perfect.

I'll do it the next time
What is GI?

Global Illumination.
With ambient occlusion, you'll have to render out different element passes for the windows, etc. to add those back in over the ambient occlusion pass, because it will darken areas that should be illuminated brightly.

I use Light Tracer. Gotta love the shadows it creates.

Ah. I use finalRender for renders, I use area shadows.

Me too, area shadows are the best imho.

Getting better.
The movement of the Enterprise is very, very smooth, as is the camera. Still getting a lot of TOS-Remastered vibes from it.
Speaking of the camera though, the way you've got it moving kind of breaks the scale of the scene. It makes the Enterprise look "bigger" than it "is", because the planet moves so much in the background compared to its apparent distance based on its size in the scene.
The E is as big as the planet, essentially, and you've got the camera moving around two equally sized objects, rather than following a small one with a big one in the background. I know that's likely how the scene is set up in-software, but that's also how it looks in the animation.
A few ways this could be fixed would be to center the camera on the ship, move the camera closer to its axis of rotation, so that the circle traced by it during the rotation is smaller, "move" the ship "closer" to the planet, move the camera along the E's flight path with it, or some combination.

Hmm, good points. I might pre-render the planet and greenscreen the 1701 in post-prod over it.

The passing of Mr. Nimoy is a sad but great inspiration.
