Description I tried to build Matt Jeffries' original concept for the Galileo shuttlecraft. This is what came out.

I named her Kepler, sticking to the tradition of naming Enterprise shuttlecraft after astronomers.

I will release her, shortly...

It looks so much more futuristic than the normal shuttlecraft! And great name, too!

Great rendition as always.

Now if TOS had some real budget back in the day, things would be way different.

Much better looking than the "shoebox" that was built. Nice bit of modelling those wings mate

Thank you very much!

This is how they were done: I selected a few Faces on the "rim" on the edge of the hull. I Extruded it, selected the Edges and Connected them for the needed "material". I selected the wing thing and curved it to the needed shape via the FFD 3X3X3 modifier. I selected the final stack of faces on the tip of the wing and did the same thing, Extrusion, Connection and FFD 3X3X3 for the upward-curving part.

it would have been far easier just doing the editable poly route, well thats my opinion anyway but hey, it works for you

It was in editable poly

How does that baby generate enough power for warp?

Ahh! Based on the quantity of cow flops all over the ground where we live I think you could very well be correct!

It just doesn't seem grey enough. Far too brown. But again, that may just be the lighting.

It's the lighting!

Does it have textures yet? Because right now most of it looks rather like clay. Or is that just the lighting, perhaps?

thefirstfleet In reply to BellOrso [2011-03-31 23:17:07 +0000 UTC]

It has no textures in the image file sense of the word. I use a whitish-greyish colour material for my shuttles.

I'm guessing it's old school..which were severely lacking in texturing.
