"There's another ship approaching from the port side", tactical officer Rouvanen said, her screen blinking with the incoming data.

"Is it Section 31?", Number One asked. The last thing they needed is a battle en route to Xahea.

"No, Commander", Rouvanen said, shaking her head, "It's... a First Fleet ship!"

"A what?", Number One moaned, rolling her eyes.

"They're hailing us", the communications chief said. Number One flicked her hand towards the viewscreen, acknowledging the call.

The viewscreen opened a new command window, displaying a man with a long face and an untamed mop of a hair, wearing a field gray uniform, his chest braid displaying his status as the master of his vessel.

"'Ello there!", the man said with a small smile, "This is Captain Spencer Culpepper of the USS Polaris."

"What can we do for you, Captain?", Number One asked cautiously.

"You? No, we want to help you", Culpepper said in a tone that almost felt cheeky, "We've received intel on your feud with Section 31. My former commanding officer... well, both she and I, consider giving them the old one-two a mission of honor.

"But... how...?", Number One moaned, not believing what she was hearing.

"Maria Boccioni is the person you don't want to mess with, Commander. And Section 31 did", Culpepper said, still maintaining an aura of casualness.

"How did you find us? Did Discovery reach you?", Number One asked.

"No, but it's a long tale involving time-travelling Kzinti found by time-travelling Nazis", Culpepper said the words so casually as if he was talking about his favorute breakfast food. He stood up from his command chair as if to show playtime's over, "Mind if we tag along?"

Okay, I know it's just in my head, but the Polaris would be totally there to land a smack on Section 31, just for the heck of it. Also, I wanted to mimic the lighting style of the latest episodes with this image.
