Description
I re-modelled some elements of my Federation Dreadnought model to match my new TOS models.I will release this one as well before Christmas, as well as my newer TOS models. Once DevArt repairs the bug that prevents me from uploading them.

The active part of the 2 nacelles face each other, does the active part of the third face down?

The third one balances the warp field. It doesn't make the ship go faster, but is more efficient.

I see. I have been confused ever since I saw The Episode of TNG where the command is issued to go to warp 13.

That was something different. The Galaxy class refit / Galaxy-X did indeed go faster. The Federation Dreadnought was designed with a different perspective in mind: be as hard as a rock, punch the crap out of everything, then go back to your Starbase. The Gal-X was everything: speed, firepower, exploration capabilities, the best the Federation and Starfleet could ever offer. It combined the original "friendly" principles of the Galaxy class and the tough-as-nails attitude of the Sovereign. It added a new warp core to feed a third nacelle, plus that sweet-sweet phaser cannon.

When you think about it, It's really amazing how Franz Joseph was able to take one design- the Enterprise- and come up with two others, well 3- the Dreadnought, the scout and the destroyer- and make them all look right. It's too bad his designs for these ships- and the starbase- never made it to film.
