How many yaers was it since I featured the Kzinti? They were mentioned everywhere, but the ships... so I enhanced the model to look more detailed. I wanted a Millenium Falcon-ish plating, while also keeping the old textures. Some bits and pieces here and there, and an overall better result, I think.Models by me

I swore the Kzinti ship was lightly based on Martian Tigermen's warship from 1930s Buck Rogers in the 25th Century newspaper comic.Β It was sphere-shaped with two destructive ray projectors mounted on each side.

The Kzinti appeared as the main antagonists in my Polarisverse quite early. I kinda reinterpreted them, but for me, they are nightmare fuel. Imagine sentient bengal tigers...

You're right, this is a Connie killer. Think of KΓΆnigstiger VS everything else in WWII. The previous main Kzinti cruiser was also a beast, but this... this is an apex predator. It's not that fast ar Warp speeds, clocking out at Warp 7.5, but at sublight speeds, it utilizes small artificial gravity fluxes instead of thrusters. The saucer is larger that of a Connie saucer, yet capable of fighter grade maneuvers. It has four heavy phasers and a whole missile silo.
The Polaris crew often got lucky against these predators, thanks to the crew's experience, and the fact that the Pallada class was specifically designed against Kzinti ships and tactics. It also doesn't help that there isn't too many of these ships, only a couple dozen.

Maybe so, but those dreadnaughts have about a metric f*ck-ton of phaser banks, giving them much better coverage than, say, a Constitution-class has.

Well, even a metric mega-f+ck-ton of phaser banks won't help you much if you can't get a proper sensor lock on your target.
And erratic flight maneuvres often have proven to screw up any tries to get a proper sensor lock.
