I would love it if the STO dev's redesigned the Miranda, it would look so much better then it does, without a deflector dish over the torpedo pod.

Oh it is. I suppose they didn't realize the deflector dish is shrouded; it sits behind the hull at the front of the saucer section. Doesn't have to be exposed to work
