You'll have to excuse my noob-ness to Trek lore here, but... Whatever happened to the 1701-A and 1701-B? I know the NX-01 became a museum ship, and the original 1701, as well as 1701-C and D were destroyed. The 1701-E is... Well we may never know what became of her after Nemesis, sadly(then again maybe the new series will shed some light on her current status?)... Assumption would tell me that the A and B simply lived out their service lives before they were ultimately sent to the scrap yards?

According to Expanded Universe material, the A was decommissioned and sold to a planet where it was added to the local defence fleet. They hired Kirk to be its captain, of course. The 1701-B perished in deep space.

The Expanded Universe books, showing the fate of the Enterprise-A, are by William Shatter and considered non-canon. Β The Enterprise-A apparently ended her life as a target on the Starfleet firing range.
The Enterprise-B vanished without trace under the command of Captain William George. Β Her fate is unknown, but it is believed he crew succumbed to a virus

Reminds me of them flying away from the "Sha-Ka-Ree" planet. Happy voyages, our dear Enterprise!

I've had a really rough week follow a really rough 6 months, so simple space shot, helped clear the mind for a mo. Thanks!

Nothing plain and simple about it - it was, and always will be, my favourite.
