"Perkele" was a Finnish word for "devil" in old bibles but today it's changed to "paholainen". "Perkele" is more like a swear word now. It's a milder version from "saatana"="satan".
Some people say "perkele" has also meant Ukko/Äijä who is god of thunder, weather, sky and harvest in Finnish mythology. Or some people say it's just an old saying for god of forests.
