So this is something I found out recently and I had to talk about this. (And it's also the reason I left sprites area's discord group)
I've seen how many people here just doesn't improve on their spriting skills, because they stay in their confort zone (that is editing qsab101 sprites, the ulsw base from byte035 and the sheets of other styles like orumaitoobeso's, etc.) and that isn't bad, editing while giving credits its fine. The problem comes when they want to go for "custom poses" and all they do is copy paste the stance of a character and just change the arms. You guys are not progressing with this frankenstein like way of spriting, and when someone points that out (because I do give a lot of criticism in a polite way to help some of you improve) you guys just ignore the comments.
I know it's nice to receive good comments from your sprites, I really do. But uploading here your "SUPER ULTRA NEW SPECIAL ATTACK" than it's actually a rip-off of 2 different sheets involves being mature enough to see criticsm and use it to improve your styles. I'm just tired of seen a not good sprite or portrait and read comments saying "wow dude that's epic" "amazing" and not comments talking about how a part of the sprite could use some work.
And when I do see some custom material, what happens? Yeah, another person takes it for their sheets. If guys like Papuro, qsab, orumaitoobeso, etc., can develop custom poses it's not because they are better spriters than you are, it's because they break their confort zone and try new poses to become better at spriting. There are many of you with a lot of talent and you're not using it only because you stay in the edit ulsw goku, vegeta, and base sheets.
Break that confort zone, don't be scared to give and receive critics, they are there to help you improve. I know many of you only see this as a hobby, but seriously dudes, most of you are being spriting since months and years and you're not progresing because you're not trying new things. Let yourselves become better.

While I think that the basis for your criticism is somewhat true, I think that you yourself should post some more sprites before saying anything, because as it stands now, you'd be in the realm of the people who "remain in their comfort zone".
However, I'm at least happy to see that someone's decided to speak up about this. I think that there has been a general improvement of quality, even if only a little, within the ULSW community, though.

The fact than I'm not posting sprites is because University takes away most of my time and I don't want to just put certain frames of the sheets I work on instead of posting the whole work. Trust me it's not confort zone, I would love to have time to sprite but adult life is more than doing pixels

The only time I usually have a problem with this is when they're creating characters from DB and they use the already existing sheets and don't even change any moves, only the super attacks. If they changed more things, then that would be fine, since I edit and mold new characters by trying to bend them into new poses with already existing sprite sheets instead of leaving them as how they were found, but I do agree with you when people try to make a sheet and leave everything exactly as it was and only change the hair and color scheme.

No entendiste nada entonces.

To be honest I have to agree with this, and That's why I'm mainly getting rid of some of the sprites sheets i created. Such case with Gogeta and Goku Black Sheet i created. I did not like How I Created them and just it makes me look Horrible. Which is why I wanna do better and Just Improve and be a better spriter. I'm not gonna use anymore ULSW bases Or Anything like that anymore. I Realized that It's Better to use Creativity then Someone's else work. Thank You For sharing this.

There is no need to. Ulsw has a lot of potential and offers a lot of posiblities, I'm just saying people need to think off the box and just using other people work to make their sprites.
