You found your horse! Quickly Capture it, you can rope it, try to convince it to come with you?? jump on it?? whatever you do you have to capture it and bring it back to the council stable!

As Jamie and Thief were looking for wild horses there was a sound behind them and as Jamie turned to look over his shoulder he caught sight of a startled looking dark chestnut horse with a splash of red down their shoulder and then the horse was gone turning on their heels in the snow and taking off down the steep side of the hill at leg breaking pace.

Without really thinking Jamie twisted and hauled Thief after the mare. The colourful stock horse was light on his feet but not really used to snow so slipped a little on the steep slope. He was locked on the horse in front of him and Jamie wouldn't have been able to break his concentration if he tried.

Gripping Thief's reins in one hand Jamie loosened his rope and urged the stallion faster trying to get closer. A dark jagged shape appeared out of the snow a little way down the slope below them and Jamie just knew that if the didn't get the horse caught by them he was going to lose them.

Arm outstretched Jamie tried to stay balanced as he called to Thief and the stallion galloped closer to the chestnut ploughing through the snow. With a massive swing he tossed the loop of the rope watching it arc through the crisp air to almost hover ahead of the charging horse before their speed caught up to the rope and it fell snug over their neck.

The dark form of the fallen tree was upon them and the dark chestnut sprang up and over the tangle of branches.

Jamie let the rope slip loose so he wouldn't snag the poor horse as they jumped then sat balanced as Thief followed over the jump and then sat back in the saddle holding tight to the rope as Thief sank his hind quarters into the snow and the rope snapped tight.

With a grunt of surprise the chestnut was hauled around by the rope around her neck as Thief bunny hopped half sat in the snow using his weight to slow the mare. Recovering himself Jamie recollected his reins while the dark chestnut mare was partly stunned and then started to reel her in, bringing her closer without her getting close enough to strike out at him or Thief.

The mare struggled but the rope stayed snug and strong.

Jamie started to back Thief up the hill trying to drag the mare up towards the main group of riders. He had a feeling he was going to need help to get her home with him safely. This was a lot further into the whole catching a wild horse thing that he'd actually expected to get! he had half expected to come out for a nice ride and get himself a bit bothered chasing wild horses around in the snow, he hadn't actually thought he's manage to catch one.

Holy shit Opal and Cala would be so proud of him! Opal was right this is a good way to distract him from Shale's time away.

Jamie grinned at the mare fighting against the rope and made up his mind. He was going to prove himself as a great trainer and this mare was going to help him do it. All his other horses were stable bred but this horse, this mare she was going to be his challenge, his proving ground. If he could train her then he would become a trainer worthy of Shale and the horses Opal had placed under him.

So Jamie's been using this event as a distraction for his beloved baby Admiralskaya girl Shale, he wasn't truly expecting to catch a horse but now he has he's decided to use this as a training moment for himself so that he can really challenge himself as a horse trainer. Jamie's till fairly new to training horses but he's got good support and he's really starting to mature as a person. He's come a hell of a way since being orphaned and then halfway kidnapped from a police station. #proudmama #trashboi
