Yeah, I'm kind of excited for that new Power Rangers movie.I decided to give a shot at seeing how Tommy's suit would look in the new movie universe.
If you want to use this for a picture, go ahead; just credit me if you do.
Update 01/23/17:
As per a suggestion, I added a gem to the helmet and also added a holographic Dragon Shield similar to that Power/Rangers short film. I decided to use a piece of Warframe armor.

i'm excited for the sequel (if there will be one which hopefully there will be). i sadly don't think Jason David Frank will be playing Tommy if the sequel does happen, considering that last time he played an actual part through a whole series was when he was a high school teacher. now i'm not saying that was his last appearance in a power rangers TV series, it was just the last one he played a major part in (correct me if i'm wrong). Though he did come back as a green and white in the legendary battle in Megaforce (he had Saba when he saved the kid but then he was in the green ranger suit) I was happy though that there was a cameo from Jason David Frank and Amy Jo Johnson at the end of the movie as civilians taking pictures of the Megazord. i found that funny xD I did miss the part where they mentioned Tommy Oliver after all the credits but my mom saw it and told me about it and my head was literally screaming (my goodness i have never typed a comment this long xD)

I just hope in this series, this Tommy won't be under Rita's spell. He would just join her willingly for some reason. I'm going by Burai.
He can be an old childhood friend of Jason's and that they were close as brothers. But everything changed between them.

The filmmakers remarked in interviews that they see themselves doing "several" sequels.
As for the Power Coin in Rita's staff that mentioned,
the revamped story goes that Rita WAS a Green Ranger that went rogue at some point.
So, that explains why she has the coin.
I look for Tommy to appear in a sequel, rather than in this film.
as even in the '93 series, Tommy didn't appear until several episodes later.
The whole "Green with Evil" story arc is worthy of it's OWN movie.

Yeah, I'd definitely save Tommy for a sequel, myself.
And with the revamped story there's plenty of possibilities on how to handle the Green with Evil story.

And, we haven't even thought about any possibilities
for the film reboot version of Tommy's 'White Ranger' form that came much later in the series.
(That may happen in a Third sequel.)

I could see the white ranger showing up in the third or fourth film, at least after introducing Zedd.
Also, given how it's been confirmed the Zeo Crystal, it's possible the movie continuity could be revised version of the Zordon Era. Maybe spend a movie or two based on Zeo, then move on to In Space for the final films? (yeah, I'm skipping Turbo...)

They did kinda set themselves up when going straight to the beginning.
It's doubtful we'll see a reboot film adaption of DinoThunder, or Ninja Storm.
but, they may perhaps try Zeo, and 'In Space' if we are lucky.
In Space might makes sense, as that IS the season that saw the end of the Zordon Era
(and, was SUPPOSE to be the series finale to end the Power Rangers itself.)
I personally wouldn't count Turbo, or Lost Galaxy out, though.
With Film Reboots, they MIGHT be able to do better than the source material.
Then again, that is 'IF' they really are going to do
film revisions of Power Rangers seasons beyond 'Mighty Morphin'
It certainly is a good thing that they expect "several sequels" to be made.
As Mighty Morphin' alone would give is as many films as the Transformers franchise currently has.

I didn't know where to put the red gem, unfortunately. As for the Dragon Shield, I couldn't find any good armor designs that matched the new suits look so I went with just adding gold on the suit.

I think you could've put the red gem on the "snout" of the helmet. As for the Dragon Shield, I always thought it would have more of a hologram look similar to that Power/Rangers fanfilm, like a forcefield but around the torso.
