if you played Sonic Boom:Rise of Lyric you'll get thisand we thought Sonic was a pussy being afraid of water all the time. He was right, that stuff is deadly; touch it and..BOOM DEAD!!!
(fun fact, that's the only thing that killed me in the game...what? i thought it was gonna be an invisible wall!)
and sorry to say this, but as annoying as the drowning theme was,..i kinda miss it

HAHAAA!!! Oh the drowning in Sonic Boom cracks me up with they're gurgling screams XD my sister and I wud jump in the water just for fun just to hear it again

for me it was ok but would've been better if it was finished
it just felt like a random 3D game not a sonic game to me
i didn't cheat in the game for one bit and it still glitched on me

At least that blurbling sound all the characters make when they drown in the game is pretty amusing. You don't really get that in other Sonic games.

This was so dumb. The drowning mechanic added suspense and made Sonic better than all the games where water equals INSTANTDEATH.

They sure seem to take it to ridiculous levels in some of those Sonic games... Werehog Sonic couldn't handle water either!
Okay, Rise of Lyric has apparently established itself of late as a failure of a game, even by Sonic '06 standards... (another case of "Christmas Rushed" hmm...?)
Still, I wonder how comparatively better Shattered Crystal is for the 3DS...
Since I have a 3DS and not a WiiU, I care more about the quality of Shattered Crystal... I don't give a toss about Rise of Lyric.

i'm gonna get a 3DS too and for the playthrough videos i've seen, i think Shattered Crystal is way better
as for Rise of Lyric, it is bad but it's not 06 bad, trust me

Yup, certainly seems positive - though, as YouTube reviewer SomeCallMeJohnny says, it may be better to wait for a price-drop. (I've seen it in Game for "only £39.99" - considering I feel £20-tops is more reasonable for a game, I'm not paying that)

I would have little use for a 3DS game, since I don't own a 3DS and don't feel like purchasing one just to play the game. Seems there's no such thing as a "killer app" these days.
