I don't have the DLC but that motorcycle would be worthy in the desert since horses can't get into there. =/ Yet, I think I would prefer Epona over the motorcycle on other areas. I guess it's for the nostalgic feeling and for most of the games having had Epona in there.
Yet, if I ever get the DLC, my thoughts might change since unlike the motorcycle, horses can be spooked away.... And can't be called back if I haven't registered him/her. -.-' The thing is that even though I love Epona, I fear bit too much that she ends up dead at some point.

I know. It would have been a life saver if it was possible. but I think Nintendo wanted to exclude the use of it in the desert to keep the experience of going through a desert on foot in tact.
