Description
Relentless workers of the Sectoids. Massive swarms constantly tunnel, excavating possibly tons of earth with each hour of work. Also known soldiers, forming dangerous assault troopers that dig beneath foes to conquer. Always travel in multiples. Many, many multiples.Go, Gigahaul Formian! Some days, names just come easily. I do believe that Gigahaul Formian is one of my best, after finally retuning to Xevoz after over two hundred pages of sketches. Made mainly to excersize my toy-design mind. Also, one of only two sectoids I have made thus far. Other one was a killer moth, but I did not have enough source material to make a good deluxe-size set. *sigh* I miss Scarabushi.
As far as alternate parts are concerned, I gave the set an extra helmeted head for soldierness, and an extra pair of forearms and hands. This is to allow the option of either a four-legged ant xevoz or a four-armed one, if you will observe the torso. The six upper limb pieces are meant to be almost identical, with 3 left-based ones and 3 right-based ones. Armor consists of a chest piece and four pads for the upper limbs. Weapons are a simple affair, with a pick-ax and a lantern. Total part count is 34.
Game Pieces are as follows:
Upper Limb: Ant Haul
Pick: Tunnel Runner
Shin: March of the Ants
Abdomen: Workforce
Drain: Lights Out
Foot: Row by Row
Head: Super Trooper

Yeah, Tunnel Drone was a big inspiration, but EMummy never actually expands what he's got. He just makes a figure, maybe some extra parts, and then gives up. I have a Meta-Beast called Mountain Gruff, that's supposed to be a viking goat, but I couldn't get enough parts for it, and I didn't want to post something that was only as good as EMummy's.

Hmm…
My first gut reaction was to strongly disagree, but you may have something there.
When it comes to the bugs, as impressive as they are, Xevoz holds back on special parts.
The reason may be the bug’s extra limbs. The extra limbs are a good chunk of their part count. As cool as it would be to add extra armor and weapons to the bugs, it would throw the entire line out of whack. ( mostly price wise but would also make the bug's superior warriors)
I feel that Emummy is just keeping the part count limit in mind when he makes bugs and is fallowing Xevoz guidelines to the tee.

Actually, he isn't. Very few of his sets are full sets. Many of them lack 32 Pieces, my personal minimum on basic-classed sets. Many, if not all, of my sets have at least 32 pieces, with some going up to 37 for certain sets. EMummy does not go up to that parts requirement with many sets, and he does not make the game pieces. Jackstraw is actually based off of EMummy's Crow Magnate, except more organized for the game and marketing potential. I strive to make my sets as realistically feasible as possible.
And yeah, the body-part count is a big hindrance for the Sectoids. Not even Scarabushi would have really solved this. I've seen the prototype images, and there's quite a lot used for the body. 3-piece wing backpack, a horn that is pegged on, shoulder pads attached by ball joints, shin plating, chest plating, extra arms.....Most of it was pure insectile chitin, taking away from perceived accessories.

I just felt this was best,
I sent Emummy a note just to say we were talking about his work. In more words or less, he said he never cared too much about the dice and game aspect. He very much likes that you include that though. He mainly enjoyed the figures and he isn’t too concerned about keeping a consistent part count. (The counting parts idea never occurred to him, he said.)
So, most of what your saying is true. He also said that he appreciated you telling him about your Gigahaul Formian design, and he’s glad his works inspire you to enjoy Xevoz more.
As I see it, we’re all just having fun here and celebrating Xevoz in our own way. As a general rule, I would just give the artist a heads up when a drawing is heading in their direction. They will usually understand.
Ps, really wish those new figures like scarabushi would came out…
