Well, this is what happens when the person putting in the commission doesn't have enough cash to add panels of the fight going on before the beginning of the comic that would show Kitana kicking ass. Or an oversight on the fact that I could have requested multiple panels on a page showing just that. Β―\_(γ)_/Β― Live and learn.

This is probably the most realistic depiction of male on female violence you're likely to see in these politically correct times. Now, to be fair, he didn't say Kitana could defeat Shao in a fight, just that she was the one who could end his reign. My assumption is that he's thinking she can ascend to the throne and be accepted due to her royal bloodline once Shao is defeated (probably by him, in his mind.)

Great interpretation! Pretty much what I had in mind when I commissioned this, especially regarding the whole Shao Kahn thing. One thing I will say is that I wasn't going so much for a PC approach to it as much as I wanted to show a different outcome than what we're used to. Still, I can see where that comes from given the non-violent ending to this. In the future, I might commission a more violent scenario, although I'm not sure if it will involve these two characters.

Glad you like it! Yeah, I had given it some thought when I put in the commission, but at the end of it, I felt it was right that they both came out alive instead of one killing the other. Besides, there are already a bunch of commissions here where Kitana dies, so I wanted to propose a different outcome.
