Description
Edit: built some more off these ideas here! www.deviantart.com/thejadephoeβ¦
Wind:
Sometimes known otherwise as 'storm dragons', wind dragons are masters of the sky, with large soaring wings, a strong instinctual understanding of air currents, and sometimes even the ability to manipulate said air currents themselves.
The basics of this breath ability are pretty straight forward, with the first thing dragons of this element learn to do being bellowing a strong gust of wind, and the next being controlling the air around them to form a mini tornado around them. The 'storm dragon' part comes in as a wind dragon masters their element they may learn to form an artificial storm with their wind powers that will likely also affect their base wind breath; a rainstorm, thunderstorm, snowstorm, hailstorm, etc. While a wind dragon may learn to control more than one type of storm they will only ever truly master one.
Poison:
Sometime known otherwise as 'acid dragons' or 'venom dragons', poison dragons are typically born with retractable venomous fangs, and occasionally stingers on their tails. They have a strong tolerance for poisons and venom themselves as well.
Poison dragons are one of the few with a wide range of physical traits tied to their element, with different brightly colored patterns and corresponding types of venom with varying different effects. Though these venomous dragons are often considered 'true' poison dragons, the original dragons of this element were actually the 'acid dragons'. Though they don't have any of the physical venomous attributes the others have, these acid dragons posses all the basic abilities of the poison element that were passed on to the venom dragons. Spitting hot corrosive acid, lacing their tail spikes with said acid, smelling a lot like a science lab, etc.
Fear:
Fear dragons certainly live up to their name, with the only other names there were known by being names from the old times back when they first made contact with other dragons. These names include 'phantom dragons', 'banshee dragons', 'paranoia incarnate', 'screaming monsters', etc.
A fear dragons most reliable and powerful ability is their voice, their wail can be escalated to unbelievable volumes, enough to cause any unlucky creatures ears bleed. They also have great control over the frequency of their voice, and their own ears have a type of retractable padding so that they won't be affected by their own scream. On top of it all when a fear dragon is in a fury any creature that looks into their eyes will briefly suffer nightmarish hallucinations. The main downside to these otherwise terrifying dragons is that their screams will affect any non fear dragons, including any allies. Though multiple fear dragons can work together, between the padding on their ears making it so they can't hear, and the fact that their hallucinations affect other fear dragons, communication between a team of fear dragons in the heat of battle is next to impossible. As such these dragons typically only work effectively when fighting alone.
Shadow:
Often known as the dark counterpart to fire dragons, fire and shadow dragons actually do have a good amount of physical and elemental traits in common.
Shadow dragons have some of the most unusual elemental abilities of any dragons, with one of their main ones being to turn completely incorporeal and become somewhat of a shadow themself. Young shadow dragons can only really avoid hits when they first start, as they work to master it shadow dragons can give their body the same form as their shadow breath and then use their claws even while incorporeal. Shadow dragons breath is a bit odd as well, while the 'shadow flame' itself is naturally hot it's not nearly as hot as actual fire, the real damage comes from the fact that it leaves small but deep cuts all over anyone hit by it. The feeling of being hit with a shadow dragon's breath is often described as feeling like being hit by a hot cloud of broken glass.
So i've been meaning to make a big ol page of both cyn's elements and then spyro's at some point just so I can get some lore ideas for them down. I'll probably also do one to get ideas for the aether ability down, but to start off, here's edgy girl
i get why some ppl don't relly care for her elements and would rather give her something 'normal', but tbh i started with her specifically because i really like them and think that some of the weird elements really give a lot of room to get creative with how they work

Wow! Kudos to the poses you gave for Cynder! Really shows off the dynamic and the ferocity of her character when she was corrupted by the Dark Master! I like the shadings and the lightings you gave as special FX for each of her elemental powers! They really bring her powers to life!
