“Sadis, what’s the matter? You have been pacing up and down since you woke this morning” Kiara asked. The sun had just rose on a new day and Sadis had been up early, it had only made her tenser. “Ohh it nothing really....well it just that” the horse murmured. The young lioness shook her head “You’re worried about today’s wildebeest hunt aren’t you?” Her big eyes looking softly at Sadis.
“Yes a little....it just that you know it yours and Kovu’s first go at the wildebeest herds and they are not...” Sadis stopped there as Kiara rubbed against her strong chest, to comfort her and say that there was nothing to fear. “I know...I know. I’m worrying over nothing...again. I guess the past has made me paranoid” The white horse signed in defeat. “Ohh Sadis, you’re not paranoid. It understandable for to be concerned, but after today you’ll see that you’re no longer need to be worried” Kiara then walked away but Sadis still looked over the kingdom her expression was not clear. “Sadis, I promise that everything will be ok ... I have a good feeling about today” The lioness turned back to her. Sadis smiled sweetly “I’ll be here when you get back...” Kiara smiled back and headed down to find the others “Good luck Kiara”

Late morning and the hunt were in full swing. Apart from Sarabi and two other older lions who were watching the hunt from a mound not far away and Sadis, Timon and Pumbaa who were at pride rock everyone was involved with the hunt. Nala was leading the way with Simba close behind. They had been stalking for over an hour now and were close to the final attack. Kovu and Kiara had hidden in the grass to the left of the herd and the rest of the pride was waiting at the other side ready for the pray to be chased towards them. Together the lions had singled out the oldest and weakest animal to take down, but they still had to be careful. The herd was huge and mothers had calves to protect, this was when they were at their most dangerous. Nala edged forward a little more with the target in range. She glanced over to Simba for a moment... the king nodded. In that moment the lioness lunged in fort with incredible power sprinting sight for the herd, Simba followed along with Kovu and Kiara. As they drove the herd toward the others Simba engaged on an old female. She was the main target... so the king started to drive her straight at the rest of the pride first. Suddenly the beast saw she was being singled out and changed direction way from the ambush. “Dame!” Simba shouted. “Simba what do we do?” Called Kovu “Stay with the herd try to find a new kill, I’ll go after the female If she tries I will take her down myself.” Simba reply and headed after the female. In her flourish the wildebeest ran away from her herd and into the forest close by where it would be difficult to be caught. Simba still kept up the chase, following her into the burnt out trees, maybe she would trip?
The scared animal ran swiftly, dodging all the trees but Simba was struggling to keep up. Finally they came into a clearing and the wildebeest gained full advantage taking off without a second glance. Simba unwillingly gave up the hunt and stopped to catch his own breath, maybe the others had better luck. Suddenly the lion heard a snap, like a twist being stood on. He lowered his body to the ground “Had the wildebeest come back” he thought. The king lay there quiet when he spotted it moving between the trees. The sound of it feet echoed loudly as well as it deep snorting. It was a large...dark shape so black that Simba couldn’t make it out until it entered the clearing ...... the king could not believe his eyes. It coat was as black as the night sky apart for a white slash across it neck and right leg. It large muscular body and huge neck and strange light brown hooves where a familiar sight. Simba stood up calmly for what he saw before him was another horse.... It hadn’t seen him yet. He couldn’t help but smile and to tell Sadis, could this have been one of the horses she had been tracking. The creature wonder past the lion its mane drooped over it face. Suddenly to horse stopped, sniffed the air and turned its massive head slowly to look at Simba it eye now revelled. Its stare was not pleasant. The lion stepped forward a couple of steps a large grin on his face “Hello there my.....” Simba had no chance to finish as the horse charged at him... so fast that it knock him clean over. The horse the spun back round, Simba was still on the floor dazed at what had happen. The black beast reared up with such force, it legs flying around in the air. As the king looked up its lethal hooves where coming crashing down......
