I have unfortunately experienced that my works are getting stolen, so that explains why I added all the watermarks, etc. If you want to buy any my art as prints, then please send me a note or e-mail, and I will then submit a clean version of the submission.
Drawn with a black Faber Castell pencil.
Worktime: close to 7 hours.

very nicely done, i love the fur
i always need a reference when i draw a wolf. even when i have an idea in my head, i can never get the proportions right without an image to look at. its frustrating but it is also a good way to learn how to get it right.
i still need to work on wolf bodies and shading. i'm good at doing heads and eyes though

Using real photos as reference is the best way to learn the anatomy.

Very good detailing on the fur The ears, legs and paws are excellent, especially the ears look very realistic. The pose is very good and you bring the body language through very well.
I think you could get more realistic on the teeth (and put some shading on them too) and the eyes are another thing; they are very influenced by your own style.
I'm not saying that is a bad thing, but if you're going for realism, it might be a good idea to do some practice on them.
In all, great pencil work once again! ^^

This is beautiful, do you have any tips on doing the snarl?
π: 0 β©: 1
TheKarelia In reply to VioletTheFireWolf [2009-07-25 10:19:03 +0000 UTC]
Thank you very much
Hmm.. When you do a snarl, you have to shorten the wolfΒ΄s nose a bit, and make it look a bit "crumbled" if you know what I mean?
You have to think of the length of the nose, and then imagine how it would look, if you pushed to two ends together. So yeah, itΒ΄s all about shortening and make it look "soft"/realistid

Your welcome^^
okay, I understand now but what about the muscles in the mouth when a wolf growls or snarls?
and thanks this could really help me.
