Description
[Link to IPG-024-P1: Coming Soon]This story is inspired by true events that are planning to occur on the 26th of September, 2022 [this is (or was) meant to be a near-future based story].
The asteroid Didymos is predicted by some to someday hit the Earth killing many, and thus a NASA satellite is planned to ram a moonlet (Dimorphos) that's orbiting Didymos, which'll then hit Didymos to change her potential future collision course with Earth. This is great (as long as it doesn't backfire); however, I felt it important to tell a story about caution involving these events (as I feel that unfortunately sometimes people may not be so caution prone at times when it comes to serious stuff, sometimes even just out of spite for others).
It is this cautionary tale that has been in my head for perhaps over a year now; sadly I never got around to telling anything about it till now, and I'm sorry about that. Hopefully I can still manage to tell this story sometime, even after said events occur as they may; but for now, this mentioning will have to suffice. Here is a brief summary, like what you would perhaps find behind a written book:
"The year is 2022 and a rocket carrying a satellite is launched. On it the hopes of humanity and life itself.
As the satellite nears its target, things go awry. Tensions rise. Fingers pointed. And something unknown emerges from the flames that remain.
Will the fires be quenched, or will all that's left become ash?"
The caution of this tale is that while it is good and just to prevent harm to others, it is just as imperative to work together and get along, in order to make certain that it is not more harm than good that is done.
The mistakes we make, live with us; we remember in part, so that we do not make those same mistakes again.
The paths we take, the journeys we trek upon, the lives we touch; all matter, no matter the insignificance of it.
Our world is in our hands, as are the people we hold dear.
Always respect that knowledge, for sadly we may not know what we have, till it is too late and lost to us.
