I've been reflecting a lot lately - as you may have noticed. I've been more self-aware and that makes me realize some things about myself and people around me.

This drawing is inspired by a conversation I had with one of my close friends. We've been talking things out and opening ourselves more as we are experiencing similar situations and we've realized how there are characteristics of ourselves that makes us hurt us - and sometimes those around us too.

I won't go into a lot of details, but sometimes our rational part does not cooperate well with our emotional part. Trauma can also play an unnecessary role when we are trying to overcome situations - especially when we know how we should've act but still proceed to self-sabotage our actions. Sadly, there's no switch that can easily make us change into the person we want to be, to trust those around us. But we will have to trust time will help us and have the will to become what we want to. As long as we rely on the evidences of what we see as the truth, we shouldn't jump into our precipitated overthought conclusions.

This is a really difficult path: fight against ourselves. Maybe that's why I like duality themes so much. I often find myself battling my other self that is in survival mode and is not friendly-shaped. It has won some battles, but it won't win the war.
