Oh your questions are just fine!!
When you purchase linearts, you're buying the actual linework (either as a transparent PNG or a layer-enabled file such as a PSD, which both are included in this lineart set) and the right to use it for either your own personal use or for commissions/adoptables/character design work. This puppy base comes in PSD form with 2 bases and then a lot of layers holding the different "traits" that you can apply to the base. I also have all the traits as separate PNGS that you can piece togehter if you can't work with photoshop files.
You also have the right to edit the lineart in any way you please, so if you want draw over it/frankenstein it to look different/color over it, you are free to do so if you've purchased the lineart.
