Well, I think this is a pretty slick re-design you came up with. It still gives off the Julie-Su vibe but gives her a more 'tough' feel at the same time. Plus I have always like the whole 'pants that are also shoes' thing.

I've been thinking about how Julie-Su is pretty much a cypher with the personality of a wooden board, so I tried to convey something more in this design

My favorite part of this is that she doesn't look like a pink Knuckles, but she still looks like an echidna. Glory hallelujah, it can be done.

It was p.much the whole idea here, making her stand on her own. Throughout the franchise echidnas have been drawn with a lot of shapes (Butler drew them with dome heads, Yardley! draws them square, Nigel Dobbyn drew them squashed, SEGA draws them oval, the old European Knuckles artworks were triangular, etc), an artist just needs to know where to get inspiration in mixing all that and you have echidnas with variety

I'll think about it, as I can agree it'd be a nice accent but can't really figure out where to put it without overcomplicating the design, tbh.
