This brings back memories, dude.
I actually made my own TMNT action figures out of clay when I was kid. I had one particular favorite figure I made of Leonardo. Had to use toothpicks for the swords. I brought the figure to church one Sunday and had to leave it in the car.It was a spot of melted clay when we got back from service. I was really devastated that day.
Yep, I really hafta agree. I really miss those shows. Looking back, it did play a part in my choice of career in graphic illustration. I did move on to experiment with other genres of art. But I really have to say that these cartoons were my roots.

yea, they were definitely good cartoons, had great morals too, were rarely cheesy too, everything seems to be over cheesed now.... but then again I may be biased=]

Same here, dude. I now prefer old cartoons than the newer ones. Nothing against the newer toon's though. But yep... I guess I must be very biased as well.

Haven't really checked them out though. I did remember watching old episodes of spiderman when I was really young. I think there was a series with Iceman and some female superhero character I can't really remember. I really thought the Iceman was awesome.
In terms of the currentcrop of cartoons, I really dig SpongeBob because of it's really cool grasp of the randomly absurd. I also go with Rocko's Modern Life; it's just surrealy goofy. Kinda brings to mind Frank Zappa and Salvadore Dali when you really think about it.
Older toons that I still like are Pinky and The Brain, Animaniacs, Ren and Stimpy. Really like their subversive demented humor there. I really made my day during my early teenage years. I aslo remembered those old cartoons they used to show when I was like 10 years old ; mostly those really well made animated movies whose titles I can't really remember. I thinks some of them were Russian made renditions of the the Brothers Grimm. I think that was one of the rare moments when Malaysian TV had the foresight to show really quality programing.

the spidey show back in the days (way back actually) was Spider-man and his Amazing friends, they show the show on 108 sometimes on timewarner cable=] The new one is just as good for these times=] The one on fox, I never got into, but this one is almost like the comic, if not better=] do you remember the hobbit ? heh

Nope. Don't think I head that one before. By any chance it's a reference to JRR Tolkien?
There was one cartoon that sticks in my mind. I really don't know why they actually broadcast this on the Saturday morning kiddie slot because it was really grim; basically it's about an elderly English couple riding out a nuclear fallout, just them reminiscing about the good old times amidst the impending doom.
But it was really well made cartoon. Quiet sad...even for a young kid like me. I must also say this could be one of the first stories that really made me think. But still I kinda wonder what uproar it would have caused amongst the parents.
Another one would be about a boy who's snowman came to life. They actually have cool adventures; even going to visit Santa Claus at the North Pole. But the story really ends quite sadly when the kid wakes up the next morning to find his friend the snowman already melted. Again, that bummed me out when I was a kid.But still I actually like the way it was illustrated and animated. It has an European expressionist feel to it.
But yeah. Those were stories with really heart tugging (at times a little bit heavy) story-lines. There others which were really gems. Lots more which would probably take a few pages for me to name!

Secret of nym. Is it about mice vs the rats? I think I may
have read the book when I was young.
I remember it that book really had really cool illustrations there.
Almost all the other books I borrowed from the library was enough to get my interest.I really remember reading stuff by Richard Scarry and being inspired to draw. I guess that's where I got my start.

I grew up watching TMNT. I think in general cartoons aren't what they use to be. TMNT, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck, Duck Tales, Tale Spin and of course on Saturday mornings Spider Man, X-Men and The Tick.
Anyway, you did an excellent job. Cool poses, nice hardcore expressions. I hope you color it.

Yeah, that's the word, magic. I thought it was, but I wasn't sure. I figured 'sumthin' was better then putting the wrong words. HaHa. Ah, those were the days.
