Description
Starfire and Blackfire superimposed in front of a non ani-aliased Bryce background...A sucessor, not a remake of: [link]
I just like contrast, and comparisons to older works.
Just call me George... ''
Enjoy.
Sorry, no crab joke this time...

This is probably going to sound weird, but I like the way that you have their gloves cover their whole hands, unlike in the show where they just cover the forearms.

TheLevithorArts In reply to 2wingo [2008-01-22 05:45:16 +0000 UTC]
That was intentional.
More heroes need gloves in case they need to fight a Jabba the Hutt type thing.
(plus they are hot on girls )

True that. I don't know why, but there's just something hot about the right kind of gloves on women.

The submissions at the Teen Titans club got messed up. I was trying to comment on one where Beast Boy did something stupid, but when I clicked the link to the original, it took me to your picture here by mistake.

Nicely done. The only thing I'm not fond of is the bar at the top and bottom, I feel it spoils the picture.
Otherwise great job.

I'd just like to see more of the image. Sorry if I sounded harsh it wasn't too. I'm used to giving critiques on the other forum I'm with.
Keep up the good work.
Take Care

Actually, thats the whole image with a border tacked on.
I stretched it and put a non distorted version over it.

Interesting architecture in the background, and the road railing looks very realistic . I like how Starfire and Blackfire came out. Is the bush to the right of the wall 3D or an image? Over all very impressive
.

It was all just two image layers.
One was all 3D in Bryce, yes, even the bushes, and the other was the two sisters.

The whole background took 20 minutes to render.
Actually, Bryce 5.5 (which is a free program, BTW)
has an automatic tree creator. I just bunched a bushel of trees together.

~The whole background took 20 minutes to render
, that's pretty intense. I wonder what took so long, do you think it was the building textures, or just the sheer quantity of shapes? I wonder how long it would have taken if was aliased

Ive had longer renders.
One was a day in 8 hours due to alot of flora.
Pixar movies usually have renders taking 16 hours per frame.
There are 24 frames per second, and one minute and sixty seconds, you know.
Its a wonder that they get out.
I'm child splay compared to Pixar. :-P

Wow, that must have been quite a forest

- so it takes 32 months to do render one minute of Pixar film? I take it they have multiple computers rendering the film then
.
~Actually, Bryce 5.5 (which is a free program, BTW) has an automatic tree creator
-Somehow I missed seeing that . So where does one acquire a free copy of Bryce 5.5? Is it one of those three-month trial offers? Heck, the automatic tree creator in 3D is enough for me to want to try it out... and combine it with some animation effects
. Does Bryce come with a built in animator?

Cool
. If you were to render just the person, how long would that take? I notice they don't tend to use smooth lines for faces of characters in video games, and I always assumed it was because of render time.
I like the lighting effects you used in the picture, they go very well with the surroundings

TheLevithorArts In reply to parallellogic [2007-12-04 00:03:18 +0000 UTC]
Just the person would be about... a minute.
About the smooth lines,
do you play Grand Theft Auto, or Final Fantasy 12?
In the options, there is a "Trials" and a "Flicker Filter" available.
This adds a blur to the game so that it appears smooth.
Thanks for the lighting comment, it was tough...

Yes, but only for the ability to bash up cars (and have police chases
), because there is no other decent game that does that.

- I'll have to look for that, which title are you playing? I remember the third game having something like that by default, but I turned it off because it was a little hard to look at (with all the motion blur).
~Thanks for the lighting comment, it was tough...

GTA III and VC have it as a togglable. SA and the PSP ones,... got me...
The lighting was in post.
I shined some light in the direction, and made the lines later.

Bryce 5.5 is free here: [link]
Bryce 6.1 can be purchased here: [link] for around $100
or around $30 if you upgrade from 5.5. Both of which I haven't tried.
It does have an animator too, but I haven't tried it yet.
